Adding Tooltips to Poll Answer Options

Sometimes, you want to provide a little bit more information to voters, without adding more words to your poll answer options. You can accomplish this by marking up your answer options as links and adding a title attribute to the anchor tag. Here’s how to do it:

First, type in your poll question:

Next, as you set up your answer options, be sure to mark them up as HTML links. Since we don’t need an actual link we can add the “pound” or “octothorpe” character as the href attribute. Then, add a title reference and type in the phrase you want to show poll participants when they hover over the answer option. Here’s some sample code in a screenshot of several answer options so that you can see how it’s done:
