Polldaddy Customer Love: John & Olesya’s Wedding

January 14th, 2012 is a big day for John and Olesya: they’re getting married! Web designer Marshall Hines, brother-in-law of the groom, created a great website to help commemorate the special occasion and communicate information to and collect it from guests. Marshall was looking for an easy, electronic method to manage RSVPs and found Polldaddy surveys a great fit for his needs. Paper invitations mailed to each guest contain a link to the site:

Guests can click on the RSVP button, and enter the survey password to let John and Olesya know if they’ll be able to attend the nuptials in Santa Barbara, California.

In addition to attendance, the survey also made it easy for Marshall to collect important additional information on wedding logistics, including a multiple choice question that allows guests to select the entrée they’ll be served at the reception as well as a text input question where guests can type in a special message to the bride and groom:

Marshall customized the survey’s design using the purple in the wedding site around text boxes and buttons, giving a sophisticated look to the survey to match the look and feel of the website. He also used a language pack to customize the text on the survey’s buttons to match the feel of an RSVP:

Here’s what Marshall had to say about his Polldaddy experience:

“About 10 days before this website needed to ‘go live’ it became apparent that most of the available tools for replying to a wedding invite online were either terrible looking, or completely impossible to manage. I have never created an online survey before, but with Polldaddy and about 15 minutes I made two, complete with branching and password protection, and custom CSS,” says Marshall. “The whole Polldaddy experience was incredible, it should possibly be rebranded to Poll”easy” because everything from the setup to the available documentation and then embedding the survey on my website was the easiest thing I have ever done in my line of work. If and when I did run into any challenges I had, what seemed like, real-time communication with the knowledgeable and friendly support staff. As for the elated bride and groom, they saved a ton of time and money by not having to print RSVP cards with added return postage and then wait for their guests to mail them back and they loved the environmental friendliness with skipping the Airmail flight from Russia.”
